Sorry General Phelps failed to get my letters addressed to him at the Astor House before leaving for Pensylvania - I requested him therein to go to Washington & present matters of the seventh Regiment. I go to Montpelier tomorrow. Hope to see Genl Phelps & senator Foote together & arrange for them to go to Washington & press the appointment of court of enquiry. Twelth Regt. leaves for washington tonight -
